Overview
Who it is for
Provider groups, clinics, health systems, payers, and the technology and services companies that work with them. The operations behind care are regulated, deadline-driven, and still full of manual steps: a referral that travels by fax, a claims process that is tracked in a spreadsheet, a patient portal that does not know what the scheduling system knows, an HL7 feed that fails quietly on weekends.
Healthcare organizations need systems that move data correctly between the platforms they already run, present it to patients and staff clearly, and record everything they do.
What we deliver
Systems built for an industry where the audit trail is part of the product:
- Interoperability. FHIR and HL7 integrations with validation, mapping, retries, and a log of every message, built to the interfaces your vendors support.
- Patient portals that are accessible, mobile-friendly, and connected to scheduling, messaging, results, and billing through reliable integrations.
- Claims workflows that validate, submit, track, and reconcile, with exceptions routed to people and denials visible early.
- Operational dashboards for throughput, backlog, denials, and turnaround times, on one source of truth.
- Cloud architecture with encryption, least-privilege access, audit logging, backup and recovery, and the documentation your security officer needs.
- Runbooks and handoff so your own team runs the system after we leave.
How the engagement runs
- Listen. A 60-minute call about the workflow, the systems it touches, and who has to approve changes to it. A one-page scope within 48 hours.
- Discover. We map the real process with the clinical and administrative staff who run it, read the interface specifications, and build a prototype of the hardest integration or flow against test data. The sprint ends with a data flow diagram, a security and privacy review, and a build plan.
- Build. The system lands through your change process with weekly demos, parallel runs against the existing process, and security review as part of each increment.
- Hand off. Your internal owner runs the interfaces and the exceptions queue for two weeks while we taper, then a 90-day standby.
Typical stack
Your EHR, practice management, and billing systems stay where they are. Around them: integration services that speak FHIR and HL7, queues for durable message handling, a relational store with an immutable audit log, a secrets manager, encryption in transit and at rest, and the cloud’s native identity and logging services. Portals are built as accessible web applications with the same typed stack we use everywhere, hosted on infrastructure defined as code.
Common starting points
The requests we hear most in healthcare are an interface that fails silently, a portal that patients do not use because it is disconnected from everything, and a claims process that nobody can see the state of. Each becomes a fixed-scope engagement with a named lead, a written definition of done, and an internal owner at the end.
The services that come up most in healthcare are integrations, custom software consulting, and cloud architecture. Our Waqt product schedules Live Scan and fingerprinting appointments with a HIPAA-aligned audit log.
